Relaxed, Natural, Professional Headshots That Capture YOU.
When you need fresh, polished and professional photos
But you don’t want standard, stuffy headshots with daggy backdrops, fake smiles and awkward poses.
We’re going to say no to cheese (unless it’s the ‘spread it on a cracker, pair it with a good wine’ kind).
And we’re going to say no to feeling embarrassed in front of the camera (yep, even if you’ve always hated having your photo taken).
Sister Scout Headshot days are all about creating an environment that’s supportive, relaxed and comfortable.
An experience where having your photo taken feels simple and enjoyable. And a space where you are safe to be real, to be you.
You Will Be Celebrated As You Are.
Here’s How It Works
15 minutes of relaxed, casual conversation with chill background music while I take snaps of you in a flattering, light-filled studio in Collingwood. And yes you can bring kids/babies along while you have your photo taken.
We can try different poses (sitting, standing, downward dog—not even joking), you might have some minimal props to play with, a quick outfit change or you might even want to bring your fur baby to feature in your shots!
In two weeks, you’ll receive all your photos, delivered in an online gallery and edited in my signature style (check out what that looks like in my portfolio over here). You can choose your favourite 7 shots—or purchase the lot!

Photographing more than one person
I can shoot two people in a single session, so if you’d like a business partner, client or friend just make a note when you book to let me know you’ll be bringing an extra! If you have a team of people or want more variety from your shoot with two of you, you can book two back-to-back sessions or check out my Mini Sessions.
"During the shoot, Sophie made us feel so comfortable and confident. We had such a blast and the experience itself was so much fun. Very grateful to Sophie for her beautiful personality and amazing work. Can’t wait to get to work with Sister Scout again!"

Kind Words
I believe the very best photo is the one that captures your essence.
That smile you crack when you’re genuinely relaxed and happy. The laughter that bursts out when you’re genuinely delighted. The wrinkle between your eyebrows (that you maybe didn’t even know you had) when you’re genuinely thoughtful.
But I know that being photographed can feel a little confronting.
Especially if you’re worried about—
Feeling silly or awkward
Knowing how to pose or being “unphotogenic”
Having an unconventional look or unique needs for your shoot
*Insert whatever unflattering thing your inner critic says about your face/body/wrinkles/teeth/hair/nostrils here*
I want to live in a world where we’re all given the space to be ourselves, where we feel confident to make a difference in our own unique ways. And I’m here to create that space for you.

The space is very minimal with an industrial white brick wall, big windows and concrete floors.
It has an armchair and some minimal dried floral plants. But no desk, props or other furniture.
If you’re looking for more options so you can play with styling and get more variety in your images, check out Sister Scout Mini Sessions

Hair/Make Up is an optional extra. There are limited spots each Headshot Day, so snap one up if you are keen
-
It is a super personal decision whether or not to book in for professional hair/make up. It depends on your brand, personal preferences and budget. If you have the budget and it fits with your brand, make up artists can definitely pull off a ‘natural’ polished look that isn’t overdone. Bear in mind, the level of make up you need to show up considerably on a photoshoot is much more than you would probably ever put on your own face so don’t be shocked by the amount!
-
Sure can, my talented hair and make-up artists have experience working with people of all genders and expressions to create all sorts of styles from full glamour face to light correction and concealing.
Once you book, they’ll contact you directly to find out a bit more about what you want and can give you a custom quote.
-
That’s totally up to you! Props are absolutely not compulsory but some clients like to bring something that will help them tell their story with their photos. Others like to bring a cushion, stool or plant to add a little more visual interest to the space.
-
Let me know and I’ll see if I can deliver them sooner. There may be a rush fee involved.

In short, no.
I do professionally edit your photos, but that process is about applying my signature style and doing any straightening, brightening and cropping that’s needed—not about changing your appearance.
Photo retouching is a complex topic. I want to foster a culture of integrity, honesty and courageousness, where you feel safe to be real, to be you. A culture where real bodies are accepted and celebrated. And I believe photo retouching that significantly alters a person's natural appearance so they better fit within standard beauty norms doesn’t fit within that culture.
Having said that, I will retouch temporary things, like a cold sore, if you request it.
-
Generally, there may be one or two other people in the space at hair and make-up while you are having your photo taken.
-
My general advice is: be you! I know that’s broad, but if you’re comfortable and confident in the clothes you’re wearing you’ll take a more relaxed and natural photo.
For professional headshots, it can be handy to think about where you’ll use your photos. For example, if they’re for a speaker’s profile or LinkedIn page, dress in a style that you’d feel comfortable wearing to meet a client or for a work meeting. If they’re for your socials/website, think about tones that will complement your branding. No need to avoid patterns or particular colours - you do you!
-
Two or three, but one of them could just be a jacket, hat or scarf change to keep things simple. Don’t go overboard! We only have 15 minutes together and I want to spend as much of that time as possible getting the shot.
-
Yes! We can fit in simple headshots and team shots for two people in one session. If you have 3 or more am members, book two sessions back-to-back and we’ll get both headshots and whole team shots in this time.
If you have more than 6 team members or you want more variety from your shoot check out my 40-minute Mini Sessions or get in touch and we can discuss options.
-
I get it, it happens! If you’re sick, let me know as soon as possible, and I’ll re-schedule you. Contact me as soon as you know you need to reschedule and we can chat about your options, but please note there are reschedule and late cancellation fees that may apply.

Generally around 2 weeks. If it’s going to take longer, I’ll let you know.
